Quick Temperature Conversion Guide

Temperature ConverterFor those of us who come from countries which use the Fahrenheit system for temperature, making sense of Centigrade may take some time. Unlike the metric system, which has simple formulas you can memorize and calculate from, memorizing the basic formula for °C to °F conversions and then doing actual calculations from it can be much more confusing.

What I did to simplify this is memorize two things: freezing is 0° C or 32° F, and there are 18° F for every 10° C. Figuring nice round temperatures became easy: 10° C, 20° C, and 30° C are 50° F, 68° F, and 86° F, respectively. Figuring not-so-round ones simply means adding or subtracting 1.8° F for every 1° C. With practice and experience it becomes second nature. Then you can look forward to the day when you won't even need to convert to °F anymore. You'll know that a predicted 22° C high for the following day means it'll be great.
